Anything and Nothing

Ok so here is a list of extensions I use with Firefox. I use this browser exclusively for all my web needs, now most people seem to need a justification for their choices of software so I guess here are mine:

• It is Open Source
• It is expendable
• It is fast in every aspect
• If it crashes it does not bring the entire OS to its knees (biggest selling point for me)

So here is a list of extensions that I use with it on a daily bases:

1. Cingular Minutes Minder Firefox Extension - A small extension thats sole job is to log into my Cingular GSM account and check my SMS/Minute quota for the month so I can make sure that I do not go over my plan’s coverage
2. Adblock - As the name says this extension allows you to block ads and other content (Flash) from webpages.
3. dutchblock - A companion extension for Adblock which goes out and downloads the latest blacklists that will block virtually all ads out there.
4. ErrorZilla - This little gem replaces the default Firefox site not found error page with a new one, allowing you to do a few extra checks of the site: ping, traceroute, whois, along with checking Google Cache, Wayback Machine and Coralize. Overall a really nice extension that lets you see why you can’t get your favorite spots.
5. Tab Mix Plus - After installing this you will be presented with numerous new options for your tabbed browsing needs. Things like where to locate new tabs after they are opened, if you want to have a multi row tab bar instead of having to scroll through 50 tabs to find what you need, coloring of tabs that are still loading and my personal favorite: alternate location of the close button.
6. Performancing - This is the most useful of all extensions. It allows you to connect to just about any blogging platform out there and publish content straight out of the browser while whatever you are talking about is sitting infront of you. It allows you integrate pieces of information easily (quotations for example) and makes using your blog a lot more enjoyable overall.
7. GrApple (Eos) - This is a Theme for Firefox and it is only useful to Mac users since its main goal is to make Firefox integrate nicely (looks wise) with OS X’s Look & Feel. This theme is by far the best one that I have found so far.
8. Page Saver - This is something I forgot about so I had to add to the end of the list. It is an extension that allows you to take a screenshot of a webpage… no matter how long it is, in one go. So you have a site that spans 3 pages no problem it will take a screenshot of the entire 3 pages for you.
